Celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church

On a joyous occasion, St. Teresa of Calcutta Church marked the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a solemn and heartfelt celebration. The Feast Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Roxan Thomas Baros, Administrator of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mysore. Concelebrating the Holy Eucharist were 10 priests, who joined in this special event to honor the birth of Our Lady.

The celebration held special significance as it coincided with the Beginning of the Sesquicentennial Jubilee of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD). Rev. Fr. George PC SVD had the honor of inaugurating this momentous Jubilee, commemorating 150 years of the SVD’s dedication to spreading the Gospel and serving communities worldwide.

This dual celebration brought together 600 parishioners, who gathered to worship and give thanks for the blessings of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to witness the commencement of this historic Jubilee year for the SVD. The atmosphere was filled with devotion, gratitude, and a sense of unity among the faithful as they participated in the Mass and the festivities that followed.

St. Teresa of Calcutta Church remains a beacon of faith in the community, and this celebration was a testament to the deep devotion of its parishioners and the enduring impact of the Society of the Divine Word.
